China Taste, located in Olive Branch, Mississippi has built its name by keeping up with the latest culinary trends and offering dishes that inspire and excite.

“Our mission is to provide customers with delicious Chinese dishes that are prepared in a different way,” explains owner Feng Chen.

Drawing culinary influence from Hunan, Sichuan, and Cantonese cooking styles, China Taste offers an amazing menu jam-packed with Americanized Chinese cuisine that caters to the locals’ palates. The encyclopedia-like menu ranges from appetizers and soup to chicken, beef, and seafood selections. Popular dishes include General Tso’s Chicken, Sweet & Sour Chicken, Szechuan Chicken, Chicken w. Mixed Vegetables, Dragon & Phoenix, Lo Mein and dumplings.

These entrees are popular in many Chinese restaurants, as a lot of people seem to have an insatiable appetite for chicken dishes. “Our selections are similar to those you’ll find at other restaurants,” admits Chen. “But, while similar, our offerings do differ a bit in taste as we use put our own twist on traditional dishes.”

Not limited to the local seasonings, Chen uses Asian sauces, and some ethnic-flavored spices, including vanilla as well as herbs to put together sauce combinations that dazzle. Drawing inspiration from TV shows, cookbooks, and dining out at upscale restaurants, Chen always goes a step further to infuse a bit of innovation into each dish.

China Taste’s approach is to tailor food to customer needs by bolstering the menu with more healthy selections. China Taste never uses MSG. Instead, they use a flavor enhancer which is a much healthier alternative. In addition, the amount of salt and oil used to prepare dishes is strictly controlled in order to conform to customer dietary habits and also to satisfy those that have food allergies. As for the vegetarian dishes, they can be ordered steamed or boiled if desired.
